August 2010 Greetings!
I trust that you are enjoying the wonderful summer weather that has settled in upon us over these past few weeks! In just a short period of time, our hallways will be bustling again with the sights and sounds of our young learners. As we prepare for the start of school on Wednesday, September 8th, I would like to draw your attention to the new dismissal procedure for students at Elbridge Elementary. Once implemented, this procedure should help to ensure a smooth and safe transition of our students from school to their homes.
Please note that teacher placement letters will be mailed for all K-5 students on Friday, August 20th. If you have not already done so, teacher/grade level supply lists can be found here on our web site. School Supply List

Elbridge Elementary
IMPORTANT - PM DISMISSAL PROCEDURES INFORMATION
It is imperative that parents/guardians advise the office prior to 2:45 whenever there is a change in dismissal plans for children.
1. Adults can no longer wait in the hallways to pick up their children. ALL Parents/Legal Guardians and Authorized Adults picking up students will wait in the APR (Cafeteria) and sign children out on a daily basis. Children will be released only to Parents/Legal Guardians and Authorized Adults.
An Authorized Adult is any individual you have listed on the student information cards at the beginning of the year. Please notify us of any changes in writing.
A school staff member will monitor the sign-out procedures. You will be asked to sign your child out before leaving the APR.
Court Orders of custody or protection- If there are individuals, NOT allowed to have contact with your child as stipulated by a Court Order be sure that a copy of the Court document is on file in the Principal’s Office.
2. Only children who have a note on file will be directed to the APR for parent pick up at dismissal. (Parents requesting regular parent pick up may write one note identifying the day/days of the week, and the authorized adults). Please notify the office if there are any changes to your arrangements.
Children without notes on file will remain in the classroom and be sent to their designated bus when it is called regardless of parent presence in the APR. (Parents may NOT intercept children between the building and the bus; however, school personnel can request a student be removed from a bus in emergency situations). Parents volunteering at school will need to send a note and pick up in the APR.
3. After 3:05 pm all students will take part in regular dismissal and will not be signed out from the office except in case of emergency.
4. Release for appointments during school hours will occur as they have in the past; please send in a note with your child and upon arrival report to the main office to sign your child out. Your child will be called to the office upon your arrival in the office. Please be prepared to show proof of identify when signing a child out of school.
