Elbridge Elementary (UPK-3) » About Our School

About Our School

Elbridge Elementary is part of the Jordan-Elbridge Central School District, located approximately 15 miles west of Syracuse in the town of Elbridge, New York. The community takes pride in its school programs. Families are very involved, working collaboratively with school personnel to provide a quality education for the community’s youth.

At Elbridge Elementary, the academic program is characterized by a standards-based approach. The educational program is designed to foster strong academic skills, self-esteem, social competence, and problem solving abilities within an inclusive environment. We believe that children learn best when information is presented in a way that makes sense to them and is of high interest.

Weekly special area classes include art, music, library, physical education and computer.

An array of extra-curricular events supplement the academic program and include a Field Day, a Story Festival, a PARP program, seasonal concerts, a First Grade Gym Show, a Post Office and a host of assemblies and field trips.

The connection between home and school is paramount. Parents are encouraged to be active participants in their child’s school life. The Parent/Teacher Organization is a group designed to support the academic and extracurricular activities at Elbridge Elementary. The Site Base Team is another body open to parent participation. The Site Base Team is comprised of staff, faculty, administration and parent representatives who share their perspectives and conduct deliberations so as to promote continuous school improvement.

The administration, faculty, and staff are dedicated to the cause of student achievement as reflected in the success rate of students meeting and/or exceeding the state standard on the Grade 3 ELA and Math assessments and meeting or exceeding the average level on the TERRA NOVA reading and math assessments.

The motto of Elbridge Elementary, A Place to Learn and Grow, capsulates the commitment of the school community to provide a first rate educational foundation.
