UPK - Universal Pre-Kindergarten Information

Dear Families,

The program is open to district residents with children that are four years old or will turn four years old by December 1, 2010.

Universal Prekindergarten (UPK) is a free program designed to provide four year olds with prekindergarten learning experiences prior to attending kindergarten.  The Jordan-Elbridge Central School District prekindergarten program is a half-day program (2 ½ hours).  We will have morning and afternoon sessions.  Each classroom may have up to 18 children with one teacher and one teaching assistant.  Children will attend 5 days a week for 180 school days.  Our UPK classrooms will be located in Elbridge Elementary School.  Transportation will be provided. 

We will have a limited number of openings this school year (54).  If you are interested in enrolling your child, please complete the enclosed registration application and return it to my office at Ramsdell Elementary School.  All applications are due by July 15th.  At that time if there are more than 54 applicants, we will randomly select 54 students to enroll in our program We will place any other students on a waiting list or recommend to the parents our collaborating UPK Program at the Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency in Auburn. This program is also free and transportation is provided.
