JEMS School Supply List for 2023-2024

Students in grades 6-8 will use the Binder System to keep track of their materials and to practice organizational skills. Please see the video below for a description of this system. Please note there are some variations in required supplies for 8th grade students.

6th-8th grade supply list

• A book bag to carry your Chromebook, binder, and supplies

• 2 packages of #2 pencils

• Box of colored pencils (8-16)

• Earbuds or headphones for Chromebook use

• 1 package of post-it notes

• 2 highlighter markers

• 1 package of mechanical pencils

• Pencil bag/holder with 3 holes to clip binder

THE BINDER ORGANIZATION SYSTEM is used for ALL CLASSES. We will assemble this together in class. For the binder, you will need:

• One 1.5-inch binder with pockets inside front and back covers. We recommend the “view-binders” so students can personalize.

• Tab dividers with pocket folders (Pocket folders are necessary!)

• 1 plastic folder with pockets for math, to be kept in the classroom

• Loose-leaf notebook paper (wide ruled), several packages

• 3 spiral notebooks (8th grade, only!)

• Durable/flexible metric ruler (8th grade, only!)

• 8th grade Algebra students will be loaned a TI84 plus CE calculator and charging cord. Students will sign a contract to borrow these materials.
