Mrs. VanBuren’s Classroom Newsletter What we are doing… We had fun this week learning about Nigel the night owl Nn. We put Nigel in a nest and read a poem about him, read our Nn books, found numbers in the sand table, sponge painted numbers, talked about big and small by comparing our feet and objects in our classroom, read Goldilocks and the Three Bears and talked about the different sizes in the story, learned about the Chinese new year and made a dragon for the year of the dragon, and we heard lots of fun stories about art and size. Reminders… The February book order went home and is due back on February 8th. Thank you again to all that order we are able to get all the kids books as well as some new ones for our classroom! Updates… The February snack calendar is attached; we do need a beverage and cups this month, thank you. The letter about Valentine’s Day is attached. Next week we will focus on Olive the octopus Oo, storytelling in Between the Lions, and continue with measurement in math. February 6-10- Beat the mid winter blues fun days! Monday- favorite team day Tuesday- favorite hat day Wednesday- wacky wear day Thursday- eagle spirit day Friday- pajama day Have a great weekend!
