Title I Family Engagement Policy: High School

General Information

The District receives Title I, Part A funding and as such agrees to implement the following family engagement policy to meet the requirements of section 1116 of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The intent of this policy is to articulate how the faculty and staff will develop a partnership with parents and the community to help all students meet with academic success.

•    Inform families of Title I requirements and parent rights
•    Inform families of allowable uses of Title I funds
•    Describe ways parents can participate in their child’s school experience
•    Describe the state standards and district’s curricula
•    Identify forms of assessment including report cards, local benchmarks, and state tests

•    Describe ways parents can participate in their child’s school experience
•    Explain how parents request the services of a translator to be available during events and conferences as needed

•    Identify forms of assessment including report cards, local benchmarks, and state tests

Monday, January 27, 2020 – Onondaga Community College OCC Advantage Program Parent Night
Thursday, April 2, 2020 – College Admission and Financial Aid Night
Parent Conferences by appointment scheduled by the school counseling office


Community Outreach Efforts

•    Coordinate and integrate parent and family engagement strategies/resources with other programs

Promote Open House and the different family supports being offered during the open house evening.
Promote all program nights, via mail, school messenger and social media.
