Elbridge Elementary student nominated as honorary junior deputy with the Cayuga County Sheriff’s OfficeCollin Campion, a first grade student in Mrs. Goetz’s class at Elbridge Elementary, was nominated by school resource officer Edward McIlroy as an honorary junior deputy with the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
McIlroy said that Collin was nominated because he is a great kid who always tries to do the right thing while at school.
"He is very caring of other students and staff and is always smiling. Collin always talks to me about safety and reminds me that he is my partner," he said.
Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck announced that the sheriff’s office was “recruiting” junior deputy sheriffs who live up to the mission of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office by enhancing the quality of life of others or helping to secure a safe community, while maintaining the trust and respect of those that know them.
Collin, along with several other honorary junior deputies, were honored at the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 5.
