End-of-year eventsMay 17, 2021
Dear Eighth Grade Student and Parents,
It has been quite a year for all of our students at JEMS. With the end of the year fast approaching, several events are being planned for our 8th grade students. Please refer to the dates below for each event:
- Friday, June 18, 2021: “Eighth Grade Dress-Up Dance” 6:00-8:00 p.m.: This is a dress-up dance. It is in no way meant to be a prom. Most girls wear nice dresses and boys must wear slacks and a nice shirt. Ties are optional. No limousines will be allowed on campus. Parents are welcome to take pictures at the beginning of the dance. All food and drinks are included. Only Jordan-Elbridge 8th grade students will be allowed to attend this dance. At this time, I am waiting for further guidance regarding testing, masks, and social distancing guidelines. As we get closer to the dance, I will share those guidelines with students and parents.
- Monday, June 21, 2021: “Moving UP”: Practice during Mod 10 & 11.
- Wednesday, June 23, 2021: “Moving UP Ceremony - 6:00 p.m.: Will be held at the High School Stadium.
- Thursday, June 24, 2021: “8th grade 9:00 am “Awards Ceremony”: This will be a student only event.
All 8th grade students will be able to attend the dance and receive a class t-shirt. The combined cost for everything is $20.00 per student. Unfortunately we will not be able to accept checks, cash only. Students can turn their money in during 8th grade lunch Tuesday, June 1st - Friday, June 4th. Please do not send money in ahead of time.
If you have any further questions, please give me a call.
