Two weeks of Pick a Reading Partner (PARP) at EE and JEDIS runs through Sept. 27

Sept. 16 kicked off two weeks of Pick a Reading Partner (PARP) at Elbridge Elementary and the Jordan-Elbridge Dynamic Intermediate School. This year’s theme is “You is the new cool, be yourself and read.”

The two-week calendar of events includes four texts at each school along with in-school and at-home activities. PARP was designed to foster a life-long love of reading in students, and the program focuses on encouraging families to read at home with their children.

“PARP unites the community of Elbridge Elementary around the love of reading. Children benefit from being read to and engaging in reading of their own. It works to develop reading fluency and comprehension, but also strengthens language and listening skills,” said principal R.J. Hartwell.

“Our staff has planned a fabulous PARP event to kick off what’s going to be another high-achieving school year for everyone.”
