JEHS Announces Valedictorian and Salutatorian for Class of 2024

Jordan-Elbridge High School proudly announces the academic achievements of its brightest stars, naming the valedictorian and salutatorian for the graduating class of 2024. These students have exemplified exceptional dedication, scholarship, and leadership throughout their high school careers.

Madison DelCostello has been named the Valedictorian of the Jordan-Elbridge High School Class of 2024. With an unparalleled commitment to academic excellence and a passion for learning, Ms. DelCostello has consistently demonstrated outstanding performance in the classroom. Her intellectual curiosity, coupled with her diligence and perseverance, has earned her the highest honor among her peers. Ms. DelCostello’s stellar academic record, combined with her involvement in extracurricular activities and service to the community, truly embodies the spirit of excellence that JEHS aims to foster in its students.

“I am so honored to carry this title, and I am very grateful for the recognition,” says Ms. DelCostello. “However, it is important to note that while I am very excited and proud to be valedictorian, it is only one small part of who I am. While it may be forgotten who the Class of 2024 Valedictorian was, my hope is that those who know me will remember me for my character. I am not perfect in any way, but I try to leave people feeling a little better than when I found them. A smile, enthusiastic attitude, or a kind word goes a long way and today’s society needs it more than ever. I aim to be a positive force in the world!”

After graduation, Ms. DelCostello plans to attend a four-year college or university to pursue a degree in mathematics. A huge part of the school’s musicals and choirs, she plans to continue her involvement in musical ensembles and activities.

Additionally, Joshua Sorts has been recognized as the Salutatorian for the Class of 2024. He has exhibited an impressive commitment to academic excellence, maintaining an outstanding academic record while actively participating in various school activities and demonstrating exemplary leadership qualities. Mr. Sorts has proven to be an exceptional student whose dedication and achievements have earned him this well-deserved honor.

“It was a super close race for Salutatorian, so I feel incredibly honored to have earned this,” says Mr. Sorts. “Going into high school, this was a huge goal for me to be among the top of the class. Once you know you can do something, you don’t settle for less after that. As I set my goals for college, I want to thank the many staff that have helped me achieve my goals at JE!”

After graduation, Mr. Sorts plans to attend a four-year college or university to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. An avid alto saxophone player in many of the school’s ensembles, he plans to continue his participation in music.

Please join us in congratulating Madison DelCostello and Joshua Sorts on their remarkable accomplishments. They serve as shining examples of the academic excellence and outstanding character that define the students of Jordan-Elbridge Central School District.

The Valedictorian and Salutatorian will play a central role in the upcoming graduation ceremony, where they will address their peers, faculty, and families. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 28 at 7pm at the High School Auditorium.
