2018-19 Supply List

3YP
The Jordan-Elbridge School District’s 3-Year Old Program (3YP) is supported through NY State grants for early learning.  As a result, all school supplies are provided for student use throughout the year.  

We do ask you to consider providing the following for your 3YP child:
  • An appropriately sized backpack
  • A simple change of clothes for the unexpected events in life
  • A regularly sized pocket folder to send notes and schoolwork home and back to school
  • A favorite blanket and/or special soft toy
3YP screenings will take place during the first few weeks of school. All students begin their first day of school on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

3YP arrival: 9:30 a.m.
Dismissal: 3:30 p.m.
Parent pick-up takes place after buses depart



Pre-K
Universal Pre-Kindergarten at Elbridge Elementary is supported through New York State grants for early learning. As a result, all school supplies are provided for student use throughout the year. 
 
We do ask you consider providing the following for your Pre-K child:
  • An appropriately sized backpack
  • A simple change of clothes for the unexpected events in life
  • A regularly sized pocket folder to send notes and schoolwork home and back to school
Pre-Kindergarten screenings will take place during the first few weeks of school. Pre-K students will begin their first day of school on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.

Kindergarten
Please bring the following to the Kindergarten Visitation Day in August:
  • A large shirt to be used as an art smock with your child’s name on it.
*Please note: we share the supplies below, so there is no need to label them*
  • One box of tissues
  • 2 large Elmer’s glue sticks
  • 2 boxes of Crayola 8 washable markers (primary colors)
  • 2 boxes of Crayola 24 crayons
  • 2 packages of Expo (low odor) dry erase markers (black)
Please have your child bring these items on the first day of school:
  • A regular sized backpack (no wheels please) that can hold a library book, sneakers, folder, water bottle and lunch. Write your child’s name on the inside.
  • Comfortable clothing that your child has minimal difficulty zipping and buttoning.
  • A daily HEALTHY snack and a water bottle.  Please do not send in juice for a snack (lunch is fine).
  • A 2 pocket sturdy folder that will be used daily to transport papers to and from school.  Write your child’s name on inside.
Kindergarten arrival: 9:30 a.m.
Dismissal: 3:30 p.m.

1st Grade
The following are the supplies that your child will need to bring the first day of school. We will keep everything in a Ziploc bag that they can use when they run out. The supplies should last most of the year; however, if an item runs out during the year, we will send a note home to let you know.  
  • a pencil case (zipper only)
  • 3 packs of # 2 yellow pencils (about 18-24 pencils total)
    * No glitter or plastic coated pencils
    * No pencil sharpeners
  • 6-8 glue sticks
  • 2 large erasers or eraser tips for the pencils
  • 1 large pocket folder-ones with pockets on the bottom (will be used to bring home papers each night)
  • 3 boxes of crayons (no more than 16 per box)
  • 1 pair of metal scissors (Fiskars are the best for cutting)
  • 1 box of tissues for the classroom
  • 4 Dry Erase Markers (black only)
  • 1 highlighter
  • 1 box of large Ziploc bags
  • 1 inch binder for collecting work throughout the year (Mrs. Goetz’s class only)
  • 1 pair of earbuds or headphones (for their own personal use)
The children are familiar with specials included in our school day. We will send home a schedule when the year starts. Wishing you a healthy & happy summer vacation!  Have a lot of fun, read many books and study your math facts. We look forward to teaching you many new things in the fall!



2nd Grade
Second grade is an exciting year!  Students will need the following supplies. Keep in mind that some supplies may need to be replenished during the year.

Supply List
  • A book bag labeled with your child’s name
  • 2 large glue sticks, 1 bottle liquid glue
  • Scissors
  • 2 large packages of #2 pencils (pencils will need to be replenished throughout the school year)
  • Crayola crayons or colored pencils
  • 1 package of colored pens
  • 1 composition notebook    
  • A box of tissues    
  • 1 fine point permanent markers
  • 1 highlighter
  • 1 black and white composition notebook
  • 4 two-pocket folders
  • 1 box of plastic Ziploc baggies (girls = gallon size, boys = bag size)
  • 1 clean sock and 4 dry erase markers (for use on our whiteboards)
  • 1 package of Post-It Notes
  • Re-usable water bottle and healthy snacks throughout the year


3rd Grade
Third grade is about to begin!  The supplies you will need to start the year are listed below. Please do not purchase Trapper Keepers or 3-ring binders as they do not fit in our desks.  Keep in mind that some supplies may need to be replenished during the year.

Supply List
  • 3 pocket folders with fasteners (blue, red, yellow)
  • 2 plastic coated folders
  • 1 composition notebook
  • 1 highlighter
  • 1 red or purple pen
  • 1 solid colored folder for Music
  • 1 box of pencils and erasers for Art
  • 2 boxes of pencils
  • 2 boxes of tissues
  • 1 roll of scotch tape
  • 1 box of crayons or colored pencils
  • 4 large Elmer’s glue sticks
  • 1 bottle of white glue
  • Scissors
  • 2 pack of pencil erasers
  • 4 packages of post-its (no black)
  • 2 packages of 4 black expo-markers
  • 1 old, lonely clean sock
  • 1 large pencil container to keep pencils and supplies
  • 1 plastic ruler 12”(also with centimeters markings)
  • 1 set of headphones
  • 1 container of disinfecting wipes


4th Grade JEDIs – Jordan-Elbridge Dynamic Intermediate School
Welcome to fourth grade! The supplies you will need to start the year are listed below. Keep in mind that some supplies may need to be replenished during the year.

Supply List
  • Gallon size ziplock bags
  • 4 dozen #2 pencils (basic; non-designer) wooden pencils
  • Pencil top erasers
  • 2 large boxes of tissues
  • 1 container of Lysol wipes
  • 2 two-pocket folders – any color/design (for take home folders)
  • 1 sock (for dry erase boards in math)
  • 1 black folder (for math WINN)
  • 1 white folder (for ELA WINN)
  • Folders as shown in the table below

Below is a list of supplies fifth grade students will need for each of their academic subject areas. We strongly recommend a STURDY homework/travel folder of their choice for homework.
