*Parents/Guardians of Private/Parochial Schools and BOCES Special Education Students*

Virtual days or inclement weather days will be treated as a snow day and parents in the district who have children that attend out of district school will be responsible for transporting their own children. This includes all parochial schools, BOCES, and O.C.C., due to the fact that it is unsafe for our buses to be on the road.

Additionally, when school is closed for public school students on Superintendent Staff Days (such as April 7, 2025), parents/guardians are responsible for transporting their child to private/parochial schools.  Students who attend special education programs at BOCES are still transported these days by district transportation as usual.

NOTE: If you have any questions or need to contact the transportation department directly, please email transportation@jecsd.org or call us at the phone numbers listed above.

Any changes to transportation will still require a transportation request form (see below).

Transportation is provided, at no additional cost, to all students in Pre-Kindergarten (including both the 3-year and 4-year old programs) through 12th grades who are residents of the district.

Transportation Request Form

To complete the form, or any time there are permanent changes, click here.

To ensure the safety of all of our students, no Transportation Changes can be approved from August 19, 2024 to September 13, 2024.

No Day-To-Day Bus Changes

Ensuring that all students arrive home safely is a tremendous responsibility. As a result, permanent change requests must be made on the district’s transportation form (above).

All bus changes that were made in the 2023–24 school year will be carried over to the 2024-25 school year. If your student is being picked up and dropped off the same place they were last school year no further action is required on your part.

If your child’s transportation needs will be different for the 2024-25 school year (daycare change, starting or stopping parent transport, etc.) a new transportation form must be submitted.  Complete the form at the link above.

Note: To ensure the safety of all of our students, no Transportation Changes can be approved from August 19, 2024 to September 13, 2024.

NOTE: All Private or Parochial School Transportation Requests for School Year 2024–2025 were due in April, 2024.  Please contact the Transportation Department if you need assistance.

The Jordan-Elbridge Board of Education is committed to promoting the health and safety of our students, staff and district residents, as well as, recognizing the importance of protecting our environment from harmful emissions found in bus and other vehicle exhaust. In accordance of Education Law and Commissioner's Regulations, the District will minimize, to the extent practicable, the idling of all school buses and other vehicles owned and/or leased by the District while such bus and/or vehicle is parked standing on school grounds or in the front of any school. This policy also applies to contractor owned and operated school buses under contract with the District.
