Meet JE's new School Resource Officer
The Jordan-Elbridge Central School District is welcoming a new School Resource Officer to the team! Brian Kelly is joining JE following his retirement from the Elbridge State Police Barracks.Kelly was with the State Police in Elbridge since 2006, first as a trooper, and then as an investigator. Before that, Kelly worked in Pulaski and further north in the Adirondacks. He decided to retire at the end of September.
You may recognize Kelly as a familiar face. That’s because he used to play basketball with staff ahead of the school day, and he’s one of the founding members of the annual Troopers vs. Teachers game at JEHS. It didn’t happen last year due to COVID-19, but usually, the game brings the community together and raises money for the school district. Kelly said when he saw the opening here at JE, he knew it would be a perfect fit.
“I’m very lucky to be here, and I am very grateful,” said Kelly.
He’ll be travelling between all three JE school buildings, so if you see him, make sure to stop and say, "welcome!"
