At-home test kits available for all students, other testing options remain
The Jordan-Elbridge Central School District has received a shipment of at-home, rapid COVID-19 testing kits to distribute to families. The district will provide families with enough tests for each school-aged child in the household. If you have not already received your testing kits, they can be picked up during our Sunday testing clinic at the high school, or you can call the building secretary at your student’s respective school to give permission for a test to be sent home with your student. Please understand that these kits do not need to be used right away and shouldn’t be used unless a student has had an exposure or is symptomatic. New York State has made no guarantees that they will be sending more tests. If the district is informed otherwise, we will share that with you.
The district suggests families take advantage of both the Sunday testing clinic, and daily testing at the District Office. These are PCR tests, and students must be registered to be tested. You can register a student by clicking this link. The high school clinic runs each Sunday from 10 a.m. through noon. Daily testing at the District Office is available from 9-11 a.m. by appointment only.
As a precautionary measure, the district will be limiting spectators at all indoor sporting events, beginning Friday, Jan. 7th. Each student will be allowed two spectators.
The district would like to thank everyone for continuing to use the COVID-19 hotline. Please remember to keep sick students home from school, even if they test negative on an at-home test. Any common cold or allergy symptoms could be COVID-19 and should not be overlooked. If you have any doubts or questions, don’t hesitate to call the hotline, at (315) 209-2307.
