First graders celebrate the planet beyond Earth Day

Elbridge Elementary ELL students are learning about the importance of keeping our Earth clean. Teacher Danuta Goldmann said their enthusiasm forFirst graders learn about the environment and pollution learning about the planet, recycling, and pollution sparked their latest project.

“I wanted it to go beyond one day, beyond just Earth Day,” explained Goldmann.

The first graders created a poster to share their findings. The first side shows facts they found interesting, such as it takes one-thousand years for a glass jar to break down. The second half of the poster shows animals they hope to help by making green choices.

Goldmann also gave each student a Hyacinth to plant at home. Both first graders said they planted the flowers in front of their house with their families.
