JE Musical Players to present "Something Rotten" on March 17, 18

The Jordan-Elbridge Musical Players will present the musical "Something Rotten!" this March. The performances will take place on Friday, March 17th and Saturday, March 18th at 7:30 p.m. in the JEHS auditorium.

"Something Rotten!" is a musical comedy set in 1595. The story follows the Bottom brothers, Nick and Nigel, who struggle to find success in the theatrical world as they compete with the wild popularity of their contemporary, William Shakespeare.

As a story, “Something Rotten!” runs on pure fun. There is nothing hard on the brain for audiences during this brash and boisterous production. One production number, “A Musical,” which lasts for almost eight minutes, holds 20 different homages to Broadway favorites from “Annie” to “Les Miserable.”

In preparation for the show's opening night, JE Musical Players held their sitzprobe on Sunday, February 26th. A sitzprobe is the first run-through of a musical in which the orchestra and singers rehearse together, covering only those portions of the piece in which the orchestra plays, and in which the singers sit or stand at microphones, but do not block out any action. Check out some of the sitzprobe performances below!
