JE Marching Eagles Prepare for an Exciting New Season

The Jordan-Elbridge Marching Eagles have begun its spirited preparations for an upcoming season filled with music, dedication, and memorable performances. As the summer comes to a close, the band members and staff are hard at work fine-tuning their skills and routines to deliver unforgettable entertainment for the community.

With a legacy of excellence that spans decades, the 14-time state champion JE Marching Eagles are no stranger to capturing hearts and raising spirits through their captivating performances. Led by Director Dan English and a dedicated team of instructors, the band is determined to continue their tradition of musical brilliance.

“This year, we are working on building rock solid basic skills, a good foundation, and rehearsal discipline,” said English. “We want to practice how we perform, build good habits, and help develop strong young adults mentally, emotionally, and physically.”

The ensemble, totaling just shy of 40 members, will perform “My Many Colored Days" with music by Richard Enihorn and words by Dr. Suess. There are five segments that follow the music written to the Dr. Suess book "My Many Colored Days". English says that the show explores the idea that colors are attached to a certain emotion; we see, feel, and hear color.

The marching band’s commitment to excellence extends beyond the field. With a focus on teamwork, discipline, and leadership, band members develop essential life skills that will serve them well beyond their middle school/high school years.

“The best thing we can hope for each student to get out of marching band is the life skills that come with the activity,” says English. “Not many will go on to be professional musicians or dancers.  ALL will take with them the skills, lessons, discipline, and work ethic they learned here to apply to whatever field they end up in.  We love seeing graduates go on to do great things!”
