JEHS Celebrates Outstanding Athletes at Fall Sports Awards Ceremony

Jordan-Elbridge High School recently honored its exceptional student-athletes at the annual Fall Sports Awards Ceremony held on November 9 inside the auditorium. The event showcased the dedication, talent, and sportsmanship of the student-athletes who participated in various fall sports during the 2023 season.

The evening began with a warm welcome from Dan Stadtmiller, Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics, who expressed gratitude for the hard work and commitment demonstrated by the student-athletes throughout the season. The ceremony highlighted not only the individual achievements of athletes but also the collective success of the Jordan-Elbridge sports community.

The event featured recognition for outstanding performances in sports such as football, soccer, cross country, golf, and volleyball. Coaches took the stage to commend their athletes and share anecdotes that highlighted the growth, determination, and teamwork displayed by the teams.

One of the major highlights of the ceremony was that all of JE’s fall varsity sports teams earned scholar athlete recognition for the season. To earn this distinction, 75% of the team's roster must average 90.00 or higher.
  1. Varsity Football - 90.46
  2. Varsity Boys Soccer - 90.91
  3. Varsity Girls Soccer - 93.00
  4. Varsity Girls Volleyball - 92.41
  5. Varsity Boys Cross Country - 91.125
  6. Varsity Girls Cross Country - 95.15
  7. Varsity Golf - 91.16
“It was a major goal for each team to receive scholar athlete recognition, and I’m so proud we accomplished that,” said Stadtmiller. “Our student-athletes have demonstrated exceptional skills, commitment, and sportsmanship throughout the fall season. Their achievements extend beyond the field, reflecting the values we strive to instill in all our students at Jordan-Elbridge."

To cap the night, the ceremony highlighted the massive success of this year’s Varsity Girls Volleyball. The team fell in heartbreaking fashion in the sectional finals, ultimately losing to Lafayette on the tie-breaking 5th set. Still, the team's incredible run this fall resulted in a well-deserved League Championship.

The ceremony was not only an occasion to celebrate athletic achievements but also an opportunity to acknowledge the support of parents, teachers, and the local community. Their unwavering encouragement and commitment contribute significantly to the success of the student-athletes.

As the fall sports season ends, the Jordan-Elbridge Central School District eagerly anticipates the upcoming winter sports season, confident that the spirit of dedication and teamwork displayed by the fall athletes will continue to flourish.
