JE DRAMA presents "Tuck Everlasting" - A Timeless Tale of Immortality and Choices

The Jordan-Elbridge High School Drama Club is excited for its upcoming production of "Tuck Everlasting", a play adapted by Mark Frattaroli from the cherished novel by Natalie Babbitt. This enchanting performance promises to transport audiences into a world where time stands still, and the age-old question of immortality versus a natural life takes center stage.

Set to grace the stage on Friday, November 17, and Saturday, November 18, at 7:00 PM in the Jordan-Elbridge High School Auditorium, the production promises an enchanting experience for theater enthusiasts of all ages.

Directed by Denise Deapo, with Drew Deapo as the technical director and Sophia White as the stage manager, the talented cast and crew have been diligently rehearsing to bring this magical story to life.

“’Tuck Everlasting’ is perfect because it is a whimsical children's story which is also very entertaining,” says Deapo. "We are so excited to bring this production to life. We have a big colorful set with colorful costumes, and this show is a family show- good for all ages. It will definitely spark some good conversations with older children and adults as well."

The talented individuals who will be alluring our stage include Bridget Whiting as Winnie Foster, Aydan Piper as Angus Tuck, Emma Donvito as Mae Tuck, Eric Beasley as Miles Tuck, Cooper Childres as Jesse Tuck, Madison DelCostello as Grannie Foster, Mathieu Piper as the Stranger in the Yellow Suit, and Logan Guerrette as Constable.  Storytellers are skillfully portrayed by Julian Baker-Flagg, Maddie Wisniewski, Jocelyn Sorber, Logan Guerrette, Izzy Pudney, and Madison DelCostello.

“I’m so excited to perform alongside the rest of our seniors,” says Donvito. “Our crew and cast have been together since 6th grade. It feels good to be able to do a show that is different and challenging from what we have done in the past.”

In the heart of "Tuck Everlasting," set in 1880, we meet 10-year-old Winnie Foster, a young girl ensnared by the stringent rules imposed by her family. In her quest for freedom, Winnie stumbles upon the humble Tuck family, who have discovered a spring that grants them eternal life. Winnie promises to safeguard their incredible secret, but when a sinister stranger in a yellow suit arrives with plans to steal the immortal water, her loyalty is put to the test. Ultimately, Winnie must make a life-altering choice: to drink the immortal water and embark on an everlasting adventure with the Tucks or to embrace a natural life, filled with the ordinary beauty of growth and change.

“It’s such a beautiful story,” says Childres. “It has a great lesson to it as it does its very best to find the true meaning of life. You may cry!”
