JE Students' Art and Writing Showcased in Three Lakes Sampler
The Jordan-Elbridge Central School District is delighted to announce that several of our talented students have been selected to showcase their exceptional artistic and literary creations in the 2024 Three Lakes Sampler. This annual event celebrates the outstanding achievements of young artists and writers, providing a platform for them to share their unique perspectives and talents.Every year, the Talented and Gifted Advisory Committee of the Cayuga Onondaga BOCES publishes the Three Lakes Sampler, a collection of art and writing that recognizes the creative work done by students in the component districts. The Sampler pieces are featured within an annual exhibit called “Both Ends of the Rainbow,” which is an annual exhibit that features more than 1,000 works of art created by pre-K to 12th-grade students in the Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES district. There will be a show of the art and writing at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn from January 28-March 9.
The selected artworks and writings span a diverse range of genres and themes, reflecting the rich tapestry of talent within our student body. From captivating visual art pieces to thought-provoking written works, our students have demonstrated creativity, passion, and a deep understanding of their chosen mediums.
"I am so proud of both the writers and artists. Being an elementary art teacher, I love seeing the names of former students whose artwork or writing was submitted," said Elbridge Elementary art teacher Erin Sadowski. "It's great to see that they are still creating! We truly have amazing arts teachers at JE. Every year I am floored by the work I receive from the middle and high schools. But, I also have a soft spot for our littlest artists and the work they create!"
If you'd like to see a digital copy of the artwork on display, you can find all pieces of art in this Google Drive folder. The exhibit opens Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, with a reception from noon to 5 p.m. and there is no admission fee to visit this colorful exhibit!
