JEHS Celebrates Sixtieth Annual Commencement

Jordan-Elbridge High School held its Sixtieth Annual Commencement ceremony on Friday, June 28th, celebrating the achievements and future endeavors of the Class of 2024.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome from Superintendent of Schools James Froio. The National Anthem was beautifully performed by senior Emma Donvito, setting a tone of pride and unity for the ceremony.

Board of Education member Tabitha DelCostello, who is also the mother of the Valedictorian, delivered an inspiring keynote address. The ceremony also featured the prestigious Wall of Honor presentation by Jamie Susino to Brad Hamer, recognizing his significant contributions to the school community.

Valedictorian Madison DelCostello captivated the audience with her address, reflecting on the journey and accomplishments of her class. Salutatorian Joshua Sorts also delivered a heartfelt speech, celebrating the milestones they have achieved together. Senior Class President Emma Donvito and Student Council President Kelly VanLiew shared their thoughts and gratitude, highlighting the spirit and camaraderie of the graduating class.

A special musical selection by the Small Group Ensemble, comprised of senior chorus members, added a melodic touch to the ceremony. Superintendent Froio then presented diplomas to the graduates, marking the culmination of their high school journey. Julie Hickey, JEHS Secretary, continued the tradition with the Presentation of Roses, symbolizing a heartfelt farewell to the seniors.

The ceremony concluded with the Alma Mater performed by the Small Group Ensemble and the Presentation of the Class of 2024 by Principal Mark Schermerhorn. The joyous occasion was rounded off with a recessional by the Graduation Band, as the new graduates marched forward to embrace their futures.
