Jordan-Elbridge Central School District Receives National Recognition for Championing Music Education for 14th Consecutive Year

The Jordan-Elbridge Central School District has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) Award from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding support and commitment to music education. Now in its 27th year, the program continues to spotlight and celebrate school districts and individual schools across the United States for their exemplary dedication to music education and their ongoing efforts to ensure equitable access to music learning as part of a well-rounded education.

This marks the 14th consecutive year Jordan-Elbridge has received this prestigious recognition, highlighting the district’s sustained commitment to providing students with meaningful and high-quality music opportunities.

The award reaches K-12 communities nationwide, offering both recognition and momentum to strengthen and expand music education programs. In 2026, more than 1,000 school districts and schools—including public, private, charter and parochial institutions—have been recognized for outstanding achievement in providing access to high-quality music education.

“Music education plays a vital role in the growth and development of our students, fostering creativity, discipline, and collaboration,” said Superintendent James Froio. “Receiving this recognition for the 14th straight year is proof of the passion and dedication of our music educators and the continued support from our community. This honor reinforces our commitment to ensuring every student has access to music education and the opportunities it provides.”

“Music gives students a voice and a sense of belonging,” said Andrea Love, Elbridge Elementary Music Teacher. “It builds confidence, encourages expression, and creates connections that last a lifetime.”

Recipients of the 2026 BCME Awards were selected through a comprehensive application and review process that evaluates key indicators, including funding, instructional time, participation rates, facilities and community support. To uphold the program’s rigor and credibility, all applications were independently reviewed and verified by WolfBrown, a leading research and evaluation firm specializing in education and the arts.

Jordan-Elbridge Central School District takes great pride in its thriving music program, including its bands, orchestras, choruses, marching programs, and musicals. This recognition reflects the district’s ongoing dedication to providing students with a rigorous and enriching music education experience.
